Mandarin Gourmet is an awesome spot for both quality and comfort Chinese cuisine, in an elegant ambiance setting! The restaurant's interior is very spacious and charming which impressed me a lot. Every dish we tried was delicious but our absolute fave had to be the honey walnut shrimp, which featured jumbo-size shrimp pieces! All dish portions were generous sized so definetly meant for family style. Plus the restaurant has large tables, so if you're ever searching for a spot that will accommodate large groups this is the place to dine in! Been raised in San Jose, I never knew this place existed! My friends and I decided to have lunch at Mandarin Gourment, and the food did not disappoint at all! The place is located at the same complex as Bevmo and Party City. Huge restaurant with seat options inside. For private party, you can reserve your own dining room. What we had and would recommend: 1. Mooshoo Pork is definitely a crowd pleaser. This looks like Chinese burito. They use a wrapper, then they spread the sauce and put the pork filling inside, it tasted phenomenal! You must order this if you have a group of 4+ to enjoy this dish. 2. Honey Prawn with Almonds. This dish is a combination of sweet and savory. The mayonnaise coated the crispy shrimp, it really made a great combination with the almonds. 3. Chengdu Chicken. If you're a spicy lover, then you must order this dish. The chicken is well seasoned, served with broccoli, and made a great companion with white rice. 4. Mandarin Noodle. This noodle is so tasty and flavorful! Noodle is so chewy and fulfilling. This dish can feed 4-5 people. Meat options can choose between chicken, beef, pork, or seafood. 5. Sweet and sour soup. First visit here. Customer service was amazing. All the employees were friendly and attentive. I ordered the fried cream cheese puffs, and the chicken chow mein. The fried cream cheese puffs were lightly fried, not overly greasy. Chicken Chow mein was also delicious. I can't wait to come back to try some other dishes I saw go by my table. Overall, it was a great experience. The restaurant was also very clean and spacious. They have a separate room for groups. If your in the area looking for fresh Chinese food, this is your place!
The menu is one of those "pick something" you will not be disappointed I recommend the Lemon Chicken and the War Won Ton Soup. Service is always friendly even on Christmas night as hectic as it was the front desk hostess never lost their smiles. This restaurant is perfect for celebrating a birthday, or anniversary they offer an off-the-dining room floor and an adjacent closed-off dining room perfect for a family gathering or a business gathering. Have been a happy repeat customer for years The parking lot is very large.
